7- Tour code PR8 Cycling the Phnom Penh to Angkor(NEW EXPEDITION)

Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh (D)                                                                                                            Arrive Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel. Free day to explore Phnom Penh by bicycle. The Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, National Museum of Khmer Arts, the Art Deco Central Market and Wat Phnom, the hill from which the city takes it name are all worthy of a look. Dinner and overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Phnom Penh-Oudong-Skoun (75km) (B,L,D)

Leave Phnom Penh after breakfast and head northwards to the ancient capital of Oudong, 37km from the present day capital. After lunch cross the Tonle Sap River by ferry and continue to Skoun for dinner and overnight in a simple guesthouse

Day 3: Skoun-Kompong Thom (93km) (B,L,D)

After breakfast leave Skoun to cycle the 93km to Kompong Thom. Break for lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in Kompong Thom.

Day 4: Kompong Thom-Sambo Prey Kuk-Stoung (110km) (B,L,D)

After breakfast set out for the 7th century Sambor Prei Kuk temple complex, 35km to the north. These temples were built between 615-650 AD and pre-date Angkor Wat by around 500 years. In the afternoon continue cycling to Stoung, arriving in the late afternoon. Overnight in a basic guesthouse in Stoung.

Day 5: Stoung-Siem Reap (96km) (B,L,D)

Leave Stoung after breakfast for a challenging ride on bad roads for Siem Reap, the gateway to the incredible Angkor temple sites. The long day’s ride will end when the three towers of Angkor Wat come into sight. In the evening there is a celebration dinner with Apsara dancing. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 6: Siem Reap-Angkor-Siem Reap (25km) (B,L,D)                                                                       Early breakfast and departure to Angkor for sunrise before continuing to Angkor Thom, the South Gate, the Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. After a picnic lunch continue to cycle to Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, Ta Keo and finish with a sunset view from Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.                                                                                     Day 7: Siem Reap-Bantey Srei-Siem Reap (60km) (B,L,D)                                                                     Leave Siem Reap by bike after beakfast and cycle to Banteay Srei, 25km away, on a newly paved road. Continue to Kbal Spean (River of a Thousand Lingas), hiking to the top to view the riverbed carvings. After a picnic lunch return to Siem Reap via the Banteay Samre Temple. Overnight in Siem Reap.                                                                                                                                                        Day 8: Depart Siem Reap (B)                                                                                                                   Free time after breakfast until transfer to airport for departure flight or book an extension tour to visit the temples.
