  Rattakiri province  
 

Banlung City is the provincial capital of ratanakiri province in Cambodia 's mountainous northeastern corner. Heavily jungled and home to 12 different 'Khmer real edge-of-the-world feel to it. Most visitors to Ratanakiri bese themselves in Banlung city from where they make excursions/treks to Khmer Loeu villages and jungle areas, waterfalls, gem mines, and Ratanakiri's famous Yeak Laom volcanic lake. The city of Banlung is fairly small but offers some interesting shopping and a few decent hotels.

 
Battambang province      

It is located along the upper western part of Tonle Sap river bank it is famous for its rich natural resources and fertile soil, anything can be grown in this land with productive results.Battambang alone can feed the whole country with good quality rice.Ruby and garnet mines are the natural treasures found in this province. Included in this natural richness;Battambang has many ancient temples, which dated back to proved an interesting cultural excursion.

 

Ek Phnom

is an 11 th century Angkorian ruin built as a Hindu temple under Suryavarman I.The temple consists of prasats on a platform with some carvings in pretty good condition.Wat Ek Phnom, a modern pagoda, sits next to the ruin. The river road drive to Ek Phnom from Battambang passes through some absolutely beautiful countryside.
 
 

Phnom Banan

is a mountaintop,11th century Angkorian ruin consisting of five prasats. Peaceful location with a nice view of the area. Also L'Ang But Meas cave. Very old(150 years+) active pagoda at the base of the mountain.
 

Pagodas

Both Battambang town and the surrounding countryside are replete with pagodas, some of them very old, respected and displaying some very unique architecture. See Around Battambang for complete information about visiting the locat pagodas.

Phnom Sampeou

Mountain , steeped in legend, and topped by Wat Sampeou and a group of caves used as 'killing caves' by the khmer Rouge, containing the skeletal remains of their victims. The wat is unexceptional but the view is spectacular. Ask about the legend of Neang Rumsay Sok.
Mondulkiri Province  

The town of Sen Monorom is the best base camp for travelers who want to explore the surrounding areas. A quiet but beautiful town nestled into the hills, it has a lot of potential to develop into a center for nonintrusive eco-tourism. At present, it's very undeveloped, which gives you a feeling of going somewhere off the beaten tourist trail. Also interesting is the variety of lanuages being used: Khmer, hill tribe languages, Vietnamese and Laos.
